Through the magnetic engagement with our passions, we enter the flow of immersion, focus, and enjoyment, which reveals the truth of our soul's desire. When we are aligned with the desire of the soul, we harmonize with the limitless guidance of both the inner and outer worlds, welcoming in the Light of our power while hosting, with greater awareness and insight, the nature of the collective and personal Shadow. 

Passion Into Essence is a highly individualized teaching mentorship designed to help students explore the fundamental matrix of their life passions, in the context of discovering the larger essence of their soul's journey.

Earthed in the principles and tenets of Depth psychology, which blends contemporary psychoanalytic and Analytic psychology, this hybrid course joins weekly Alchemical Immersion sessions with a distance learning model, where students will be asked to explore and dialogue with the vast resources of Deep Psyche, orbiting around the intrinsic questions and meanings of the motivational forces behind their core desires.

This course will offer profound insight and tools for establishing a healing relationship to one's inner work through cultivating an increased awareness of personal and collective unconscious material. It will also support your psychospiritual development and understanding of how to move awareness into stages of action and actualization, where we fully harness the archetypal energies of Deep Psyche that naturally align personal passions with the soul's authenticity.

Who This Course Is Designed For:

This course has been designed for the artist, entrepreneur, health and wellness practitioner, or individual searching for the inspiration to unearth their unique healing gifts and expand their experiential understanding of the archetypal Healing Journey in dialogue with the field of depth psychology .

This course will also be of interest to other healers and teachers looking to enhance their professional work through deepening into their own process of self-discovery and self-actualization.

What You Will Get From This Course:

In this intensive 4-month Program, students receive:

• 8 two-hour Alchemical Immersion Sessions, with the optional use of a far-infrared biomat during in-person sessions.
• An at-home distance-learning curriculum program to deepen insight and self-awareness in between sessions. 

Alchemical Hypnosis is an interactive process, using a state of "alert trance" to connect with inner guidance, so students will learn to access these tools on their own, feel empowered at critical moments of decision-making and affect lasting change in their own lives. Students will be empowered to identify patterns and inner dialogue surrounding their life path, connect to inner guides and creative abilities, and clear the underlying causes of mental, emotional and physical blockages within the subconscious mind.

The Alchemical Hypnosis Sessions will utilize various Alchemical Hypnosis tools such as:  

• Conference Room Therapy,
• Past Life Regression,
• Inner Child work,
• Alchemical Tarot and connecting to one's Higher Self. 

Course Outline and Format:

All weekly sessions are two hours in length, the nature of which to be determined by the trajectory of the previous sessions.

Session 1: The course will begin with a face to face, in depth strategy session, where the student and mentor can establish rapport, identify course goals and begin to explore the process of Alchemical Hypnosis through a brief journey to meet an inner guide. This is where concerns and fears about the process are addressed, as well as establishing appropriate expectations.

Sessions 2-7: Two hour, in-person Alchemical Immersion sessions, with the structure to be determined by the directional momentum of subsequent sessions.

Final Session 8: Two hour, in-person Immersion session, including a brief Alchemical Journey, as well as a one hour discussion of what was achieved during the course.

Course Add-On: Students have the option to receive a two-hour, Astrological/Tarot consultation, via Skype or phone, that provides an in-depth analysis of the key elements of the student's natal birth chart. If the necessary birth data is not available, or the student prefers, the focus of the consultation will be on the use of the Tarot to further explore any directions the student wishes to illuminate. Also included will be a fifteen minute Alchemical Hypnosis recording with a personalized script based on material covered in sessions throughout the course.

Pre-Requisites:  None. This is a course for adult students of any age looking to explore their passions and deepen their engagement with inner guidance.

Sliding Scale Fees:  Sustaining: $2,800   Mid: $2,415   Base: $1,832.50  

Please note that 'sustaining' fees reflect the "actual" at-cost fee for running this program. Students are invited to pay within their means,  at the sliding scale 'tier' that feels most manageable. Payment Plans are available for students for this course. 

Scholarship:   VSAC Non-Degree Grants Available to Cover Full Tuition. 

Certification: Students will receive a certification of completion from Temenos Vermont.
 

About the Instructor:

Derek J. Smith is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Alchemical Hypnotherapist and member of the National Guild of Hypnotists. He received his certification from the Alchemy Institute of Hypnosis in Santa Rosa, California (2015). He has earned course certificates in Somatic Healing, Conference Room Therapy, Clairvoyant Healer, Alchemical Past Life Regression and Level 1 Pranic Healing. He currently runs his practice via remote sessions, and from his home in Catskill, New York.

Derek has been a professional Tarot card reader, Astrologer and entertainer for the last eight years, working through events, street performance, weekly residency and personal consultations. He has created a variety of hand made Augury devices, which encourage the playful and magical interaction with symbolic systems, and frequently integrates Astrology and the Tarot in his Alchemical practice. Derek is a self-taught Milliner who has been specializing in face to face, custom creations for the last ten years. He began making hats in 2007, when he opened a small yarn shop in Boonville, CA, where he spun, knit and felted custom made hats from raw fiber. In 2009, he relocated to Burlington, VT and learned the skills of the traditional Millinery Arts, eventually co-creating the artisan business, Atlas Joint, and selling his creations from a hand-built artisanal cart on Church Street in Burlington, Vermont. He now runs his studio and commercial space out of his home in Catskill, NY.

Derek was born in Albany, New York and attended Ithaca College (1998-2002), where he earned a B.S. in Communications (Advertising/Public Relations) and a Minor in Writing. He has lived for seven year cycles in both Burlington, Vermont and Mendocino County, California. He currently lives in Catskill, New York, after spending the last two years in San Francisco, California. Cultivating a bicoastal lifestyle has helped introduce him to various cultures and systems of thought, and has helped him to establish a practice that is compassionate and open to all people. @livingroads
